Sliced Apples

Warning: This is not a fiction.

I was standing and reading my book in the metro while a fellow traveler who happened to have a seat was eating his apples. Now the apples were sliced and were  nicely placed in the little round container. He was munching on them and occasionally offered them to his friends as well. The box came into my sight a few times, as the train moved and so did my book and the apples would come into sight.

I all of a sudden had this thought, a funny one I should mention. The thought was what if I pick one of the slice from the box very discreetly, would that guy even notice? I mean he was busy talking. And then I laughed to myself and wrote the incident down.

If that guy or someone from the group is reading, then next time please offer it. Just kidding.

Returning home

What a day to travel in metro. I’ve a book in my hand which I’m trying to read and I’ve got three groups of people around me. One on the left and two on the right and all three groups are talking real loud and occasionally one of the members of each group laughs loudly.  There are other people talking to each other but their voices become inaudible because of other groups.

Reading isn’t really possible right now so I’m writing this. I’ll try and read after posting this. Anyway the weather changed today and this is how it looked a few minutes ago.

Buses and even odd

There is odd-even happening in Delhi between 15th – 30th April. Cars with even numbers are allowed on even dates and odd numbered cars on odd dates. This means a large number of people start using buses and other public transport. Now, most buses are usually crowded almost on every work day but it is my belief that it gets worse during this phase. This morning I boarded a super crowded bus because I had no other options, I simply didn’t know when the other one would come and I was getting late.

I grabbed the door and got into the bus and couldn’t go far because there was no space and everyone stood in weird positions, just a few kilometers and it might get better was my thought. But then comes the next stop and some people board the bus and surprisingly I see myself moving inside, one leg moves and then two others and yes I am now in the middle with my bag in my hand and I navigate and find a position that is comfortable enough for me so I can stand with my head free but I was sandwiched for most of the journey. This sums up the journey I guess.

Now coming to the photograph. I took this other night while returning home. I was late and the bus wasn’t crowded, so I read The Book Thief for a while and then I started taking photographs. I am almost done with that book and might even write something about it. Next, I am going to pick up Sherlock Holmes!

Two People

Tell me
What happens
When the sun goes down
And moon shines
Bright in the sky
And a wolf howls
In the distance somewhere
And a gust of wind
Plays with your hair
And you feel a shiver

And you hear someone talking
In the distance
Could it be him?
Finally returning
After gathering some wood
So that you can fight this cold
And spend the night
Under the stars
And open the map
And plan for the next day
For a new adventure?

Outside the window

I was looking out the window and this is what it looked like. The auto-rickshaws, cars and buses passed by and I looked at all of them. I looked at the bus that went towards the capital of India and saw several faces sitting inside the bus, some were tired and sleepy, some looked out of their windows eagerly and tried to capture the details of the small city called Moradabad and some were actually sleeping and had no interest in the view outside the vehicle.

It was a matter of 30-40 minutes and the clock showed time as 11 in the night and the sound of announcements of railway station started getting more clearer and I could hear the lady announcing that a particular train will be arriving at the station on No. 2 platform in 10 minutes and the train on No. 3 platform was about to leave. By now the street was completely empty and I turned around and closed the window and sat on the sofa and breathed the humid air of the hotel room. It was time to sleep.

Nope!

I was going to close this tab yet again. This was me staring at the screen yesterday and I had nothing to write or the things were simply too cluttered in my mind, yes I’d prefer going with the latter.

Last time I posted was almost a month ago and the post I made wasn’t really my best one. This too is not an exceptional post, believe me. I have nothing great to write, but I am uploading a photograph so that this blog becomes a little active. Exams are almost over now and I expect to start blogging again. How have you been dear reader?IMG_20160312_180206-01

The Wanderer

Tell us about the top five places you’ve always wanted to visit.

Never had a list with top five places. I wanted to visit every place in the world and talk to people and connect. I wanted to take their photographs and with them. I still do wish for all this and one day I am gonna do it.

I call this one Journey.

Radio – Photo Post

Well, I today got a recommendation of writing stories along with my photographs and I have done it in the past but I will try to do it again. Miss Book Thief is the one who suggested this to me today. Stories from next time.

This photograph is kind of special to me due to a simple reason – it reminds me of the past. Radios were pretty cool. Pardon me for the poor quality. Clicked from a mobile phone camera while I was travelling and stopped here for Chai(Tea). I should mention that the Chai was awesome. 😉
