Cat Among The Pigeons

You randomly decide to catch up with a friend at a bookstore which has a cafe that is known for chai. Well, no suspense there it is called Cha Bar and the bookstore goes by the name ‘Oxford Bookstore’. This is in Connaught Place of New Delhi, India.

So, I was in the metro today with a book that I bought from the above-talked bookstore. Yes, you go to a bookstore and you have to have to buy a book. The reason I bought this was because I remember reading ‘Cat Among The Pigeons by Agatha Christie’ back in 2007 when I was in a school.

The weather was perfect, the temperature showing 16 °C, the metro coming out of the tunnel and sun shining on your back and an empty metro which means you get to sit and read in silence.  That is when I clicked this photograph.

Tell me what you guys are reading these days? And how’s the weather at your end?

Delhi

I have been thinking of taking a long exposure photograph from a foot over bridge for quite some time. Today I just happen to be near one of such bridge and I managed to capture this, not my best attempt but an attempt nevertheless.

Also made a short time-lapse video of being stuck in traffic. See here.

Stories behind the photographs

So, they say that every photograph should tell a story and that it should talk or it should make one wonder. Now the thing is I like to get feedback from people who show interest in the photographs that I show to them, I like hearing their views and opinions and it also tells me who they are or what do they notice and prefer.

A lot of people, friends have told me and asked me to write something about every photograph that I showcase to the world. Keeping that in mind, from now on I am going to write something either about the photograph or how I took it. I now have two windows open- on one, I am writing this post and the other one has this photo (see below).

I randomly decided to take the camera to work with the hope that I might click something nice, so I mounted my favorite lens i.e. Nikon 50mm f1.8 and kept the camera in my bag.

Today I was certain that during my small breaks I was going to use the camera and click some pictures and there was a phone lying next to the lens cap and I snapped a few shots. The picture below it is of the book which I started reading a day earlier, it’s called Blind Willow Sleeping Woman by Haruki Murakami. Now, everyone takes a picture where the book is in focus and everything is nice and visible so I though let’s blur our that part and focus on something else. Once I got back home, I uploaded the photographs on my laptop and started cleaning them up (like color adjustments, crop etc.) and these are one that I managed to take nicely.

From now on with every photograph, I plan to write something.

Hope you enjoyed reading. Let me know and share your captures as well.

Fast- Photo post

Do back seats of cars have the ability to make you think differently? After clicking this photograph, I started wondering how fast life is going, we all are in a race. We are constantly moving, running and competing. The word purpose makes almost no sense to me now.

That makes me wonder- What is your purpose or aim in life? What are you running after and what is it that you want to achieve?

Enjoy the photograph while you ponder and wonder-

Time- Photo Post

I was writing late at night.Books, diaries and pens were scattered on my table. I thought of taking some photographs, the only source of light was the lamp and it looked perfect. After taking some photographs of what I had written, I thought of taking photographs of other things and after a few clicks, I got this one.

Outside the window

I was looking out the window and this is what it looked like. The auto-rickshaws, cars and buses passed by and I looked at all of them. I looked at the bus that went towards the capital of India and saw several faces sitting inside the bus, some were tired and sleepy, some looked out of their windows eagerly and tried to capture the details of the small city called Moradabad and some were actually sleeping and had no interest in the view outside the vehicle.

It was a matter of 30-40 minutes and the clock showed time as 11 in the night and the sound of announcements of railway station started getting more clearer and I could hear the lady announcing that a particular train will be arriving at the station on No. 2 platform in 10 minutes and the train on No. 3 platform was about to leave. By now the street was completely empty and I turned around and closed the window and sat on the sofa and breathed the humid air of the hotel room. It was time to sleep.

No face!- Photo Post

I am trying something different now. I am going to take photographs of life forms but without their faces or eyes and these two photographs came out pretty nice. The lens used here is Tamron 70-300mm mounted on Nikon D3200.
